From the unclear outlines of its origin, the Romanesque-Gothic castle Zbiroh emerges at the end of the 12th century as the oldest Czech aristocratic residence. The original castle part is still dominated by the oldest detached reporting tower in our territory, hiding here the deepest well in Europe and as a pearl it is decorated with one of the oldest castle chapels in the country. Its present form large Renaissance chateau residence Zbiroh gains at the very end of the 16th century, in the possession of Emperor Rudolf II. Habsburg.
