Simone Mercuri - Hot Club of Bologna Music Band I'm Simone Mercuri and I'm part of the Hot Club of Bologna, a music band of Bologna that plays music of the '30s/'40s. In particular it focuses the attention on the swing of Django Reinhardt, ranging from the Ellington’s and Armstrong’s typical standards and bringing to life the style of the best orchestras of the U.S.A. of the early ‘900, including some of best known vintage song of the Italian repertoire like Carosone, Conte, Otto, Arbore, Buscaglione and so on. Soon we will begin to work on the first album that we’d like produce in the 2017. Biography: The Group was founded in 2010-2011 with the intention to propose some classical Jazz Manouche (or Gipsy Jazz) of the great guitarist Django Reinhardt, without sacrificing the classical standards of the New Orleans repertoire. This fusion of sounds, rhythms and atmospheres has created an immersive acoustic sound that manages to get in touch with a wide and alternative audience. Hot Club of Bologna musical project opens to different soloists that come from different backgrounds like the tradition of the legendary Hot Club of Paris wants. The quality beat of the Group has led to collaborations with diferrent Lindy Hop dance schools like Lindy Hop Italian Generation (RA), the Swing Dance Society (BO), Parma Lindy Hopper (PR), Happy Feet Swing Dance School (PG) . We hopped on the stages of all major venues and festivals in Northern Italy jazz swing. We have played every thursday in the 2014-2015 at the "ARTERìA", one of the best Bologna night-dancing club.
