Yana Peneva - Photography is Magic

     My name is Yana and I come from Varna. Photography is one of the powers in my daily life. Passion, way of life. The theft of the moment, its preservation. The fear that we may lose it, pass it ot miss it. I try to save bits of time, the way I saw and felt them. 

     I like to photograph people. It's interesting for me to observe them, to feel the characteristic, the different, the individual, what makes them human - the soul. 

     Photography, photo-shooting, or whatever you call it, has been my way of life for many years. I don't call it a job or a hobby, because for me it's much more than that. It's interesting for me to shoot documentaries, to observe and convey the atmosphere and the feeling that the place, the event and the people bring, without interfering in the course of the events. However, if you see an interesting perspective, it's not an exception not to refrain and ask the people I photograph to stand there. 

     During the portrait photo sessions I give directions where, how and what. But again, with the idea that everything looks natural. And people don't do things that they wouldn't do, if no one takes pictures of them. I look for a beauty in every part of the world, because there is a lot of beauty everywhere. 

     Currently, the main part of my engagements are weddings, family photo sessions and all kinds of personal occasions that make people happy and bring them together. I'm always ready for challenges, so taking pictures of the work process in a dentist's office, portraits of office workers or food in a restaurant occasionally appear in my days. I also love to travel, to discover new places and people and this is always combined with photography.
