My name is João Lourenço and I am passionate about the art of Photography.
Over 6 years I lived in Germany, Scotland, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Dubai, traveled from motorcycle from Scotland to Portugal through the Alps, spent 3 months backpacking in southwest Asia.
This period of my life has radically changed my view of the World and this has had a profound impact on my Photography.
The shooting of the shutter was no longer just the routine catch of reality ... it was the heat of the Scots in the grey streets of Edinburgh, the intensity of Tripoli's markets, the weight of history in Kathmandu, the warmth of the looks in Cambodia, the weight the austerity of Saudi Arabia - became part of me!
The step of facing photography professionally arose following the photo-journalism I did while abroad.
I found in the wedding photograph the warmth of the bride and groom, the intensity of the moment, the weight of the tradition, the affection of the family ... deep down the pleasure of documenting an unforgettable day!
I think that more and more couples are concerned about preserving the authenticity of their wedding day rather than an artificial vision of what they think it should be. This fits perfectly with my photo-journalistic style at heart, with attention to detail and a concern to move away from the conventional.
